Incest: Only the close ones can hurt you:

It is really sickening to even think of incest. Any sexual activity that takes place between close family members, perhaps between the father and the daughter is called incest. This sexual activity is a taboo in most societies, while it is a criminal offence in some countries. Sometimes, the family member with whom you have complete trust may be the person who practices incest on you!

There are some fathers out there who have daughters only for their sexual fantasies. There have been incidences of the mother prompting their daughter for sex with the father; lest the mother be beaten up by the father. Then there are fathers who consider their daughter to be their property, and that they have the right to do whatever they wish to with them. Even having sex with them is permitted, according to these monsters, who are supposed to be fathers of the daughter!

The reason the parent or elder commits incest depends on the people, and the type of incest that is practiced. It is not only sexual intercourse that is considered to be incest; stroking, fondling and intimate kissing between these family members is also a part of incest. The different types of incest are those that exist between brother and sister, father and daughter, father and son and sometimes, even between mother and son. Though there may not be sexual intercourse in all these cases, just physical intimacy with the person who should protect you is sufficient to produce some psychological impact on the victim of incest.

Just imagine the turmoil that goes in the mind of the daughter who considers her father to be the epitome of protection and safety, only to end up as his play thing! As it is a person who she knows and loves; she will not be in a position to make any complaints. Even if she did make a complaint, not everyone would believe the small child complaining of sexual advances on her by her father. Not only father, there are also many cases where the brother develops sexual interests and fantasies over their own sister. This is more so when they just enter puberty, and need an outlet for their sexual desires.

The psychological implications of such incest remain in the mind of the victim for some time. He or she may find it rather difficult to conduct day to day activities. If the incident is a single one, then it may not take a long time to overcome it. However, if there have been repeated incidents, the psychological and mental effects will be much more. In fact, memories of these incidents may haunt them throughout their lives!
