The Seven Dials Mystery

Annoyed to see one as of them waking systematically up at impossible hours, the six guests of Chimneys decide to give him a good lesson.
At the market, they buy seven alarm clocks and hide them in his room, making them run all with one or two minutes of interval, so that the lazy one awakes finally at a reasonable hour.
Unfortunately the alarm clocks do not have the discounted effect, but Gerry seems to rise later as usual, certainly to return their joke to them.
But Tredwell, the groom finds him death in his room, apparently died of a opiate overdose.
Bundle the girl of the house, lady and extremely judicious person, decides to inquire into this mysterious death.
When she receives from the victim?s sister, a letter Gerry addressed her and where the expression seven dials appears, the mystery thickens.
Was Gerry aware of the joke which his friends projected to make him?
