The Purpose Of Life
(Phil Batchelor)

Publicidade
The great questions asked by soul-searchers are beautifully answered in The Purpose of Life.
Mr. Batchelor concisely, yet eloquently answers such questions as:
Where did I come from?
Why am I here on earth?
What happens after I pass through the veil of mortality?
Why must suffering be a part of life?
Do I need a Savior and Why?
How can I use what is written herein to find joy in this life?
Can I find true happiness in a world of suffering?
Each chapter addresses each question with anecdotes - both personal and third person, bible verses, and reason to make his points.
At the end of each chapter, he recaps the main points of the chapter and how to use them in our daily lives to find and spread joy and happiness.
Don't let the shortness of the book fool you (you can read it in a weekend), it really packs a punch! Mr. Batchelor has that unique ability to take what would be considered by many a dry subject and make it beautifully interesting. The book moves like a well-written adventure novel - a real page-turner. A phrase comes to mind that I heard a number of years ago and I believe it to be appropriate here: Beautifully simple and simply beautiful.

He describes life with our Heavenly Father before we came to earth and how and why we needed the experiences of mortality to advance and progress to become closer to and more like Him.
Our attitudes and how we handle the slings and arrows that life tends to throw at us will help determine our level of joy in this life. Why some who seem to "have it all" still find misery while others who suffer one setback after another can still find true happiness in the midst of their trials is pointed out repeatedly throughout the book.
The Holy Bible is used extensively in order to support his points without stretching the meanings or departing from the contexts in which they appear.

This book is a great primer for Christians who wish to help others but lack the assertiveness to evangelize directly or don't know enough about the Bible to explain it with confidence.

A great read!
