A Dream

I travelled in my dreams, to far-away skies, forgetting realities and walked-down paths. Blurry images and strange noises shook my poor, suffering and tired heart. It was a night with no stars, a day with no light, that is what my dream was like; because you were not there. Defeated and giving up I thought I heard what to my mind you once told me was born of you, born of me, of love and hope, the fruit that holds and lifts you. I'm flying like a bird towards where God is sending me. Do not try to stop me because you can no longer see me. Do not talk of sadness, because our souls are not like that; I need peace and quiet to get to where I'm going at ease. I know you loved me, I know how much I loved you, but forgetting sadness we will maintain our love alive. After these pleasant and comforting moments, look up and you shall now heal your wounded soul. Mercedes Alvarez
