Vernon God Little

Vernon is a boy too big for his small town and its small town mentality, his mother treats him like a child ( which is funny because although he is... he doesn't feel like one) his father is nowhere to be seen, and his best friend just went totally nuts and shot up some students at his school before shooting himself. Suddenly Vernon is the talk of the town, cameras in his face, new people invading his space and his family, but Vernon doesnt know what the hell to do, or indeed why this is happening to him!
Then it all goes downhill, right after his mother falls in love with the newsman who, in turn, puts Vernon in the frame, what to do? fleeing to Mexico with the hottest girl in school seems like a cool idea.
DBC Pierre's scathingly funny commentary on modern-day middle america takes in the Columbine massacre, the fast-food industry, over zealous reporters and anyone else who gets in the way. A whirlwind journey which keeps you laughing whilst making you consider what goes on in those little towns where nobody looks until something REALLY BIG happens.
