Gossip Girls
(Cecily von Ziegesar)

Publicidade
In Germany, seven Gossip Girl books have been published with great success. Cecily von Ziegesar writes about young rich American teenagers. The teenagers regularly shop in Barneys, eat in Nicole?s favorite sushi restaurant and who gossip about who owns the newest $300 dollar Manolo Blanik shoes. They attend the best schools and spend the weekends in luxury hotels in the City. The characters aren?t trying to prepare for the future, instead they experiment. This entails parties, drugs, alcohol and scandal. The main characters are seventeen year-old Blair and her friends Serena and Nate. Serena and Blair are juniors in a flash all girls school in New York. The younger students look up to the girls and try to emulate their behavior. At lunch the girls meet in Central Park were they check out boys and sunbath. In general Gossip Girls explores the themes of love, friendship, sex, affairs and fun in an open, funny and exciting style. I personally have read all seven books with great enjoyment and I look forward to the forthcoming eighth book.
