MANUELA AND THE WOLF PRINCE. Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess and her adorable little brother, who, while strolling through the forest picking flowers and fruit sang beautiful songs for all the little animals in the forest to joyfully dance to. Suddenly, the rabbit says very loudly -Umm!- What a horrible smell!- and they all quiet down, not understanding what was wrong. From behind a shrub steps a dirty and ugly wolf, smelling very badly. Frightened, the little animals, the princess and her brother try to run away, but the wolf starts to cry. The princess gets closer and asks -What's wrong, wolf?- covering her nose so as not to smell. The wolf, through the tears tells her that a wicked witch put a spell on him and turned him into what he is today. He said he was a handsome prince and that his step-mother the queen turned him into a beast, so that her own son would be named King. The princess then asked him what she and her friends could do to help him. He said that the only way he could become a prince again was if the most beautiful princess kissed him, and that was she. That's why he had been there, watching her. The princess refused to kiss him, being so dirty and ugly; and besides, she had to go to a party at the palace dressed as she was; but she certainly was sad about not having a partner for the dance. The wolf insisted she kiss him, telling her she would not be disappointed. She consulted with the forest animals and her little brother and they told her to do it, that they'd help her if anything happened. The princess closed her eyes and told the wolf he could kiss her but he said she was the one who must kiss him, thinking and wishing he would turn into a handsome prince. She gained courage, breathed deaply and approached the beast imagining him as the kindest and most elegant prince. After giving him the sweetest of kisses the wolf flew through the air full of stars and blinding lights, slowly coming down transformed into the most delightful prince. She was astonished at his beauty and sweetness and, taking him by the hand, happily took him to the party. Everyone looked at the beautiful princess and her elegant companion with surprise. And she presented him to them as King Camilo, so that nobody would know his real identity and could never hurt him again. Princess Manuela and King Camilo played happily ever after in the forest.
