Faithful Like A Shadow
(pertusagh)

Publicidade
This time there was no room for doubt: Jean-Charles, managing director for a company which produced food for dogs, had been disposed of ! It all started with the arrival of this new arrogant employee whome he had disliked immediately. The young bastard, like him a graduate from HEC, had done his best to pip him to the post: he did everything faster and more efficiently that him, even the inevitable telling off of those colleagues who were too soft or indiscrete. No wonder his boss had been taken in by this young and ambitious upstart: it was for the good of the company! So it seemed quite natural to Jean-Charles to see the company treat him thus: they had to see him break down and he had to leave of his own accord, thus sparing the company a costly redundancy payment. It was sport, and Jean-Charles would show them he had not graduated first in his year by chance. He would ask his leave, no sooner said than done ! Having written a feverish resignation letter, he left it on his boss's desk with dignity, as if it were a last offering. His noble sacrifice would not pass unnoticed, surely, by the one he had revered for so long. Before passing the threshold of the dogfood factory for the very last time, Jean-Charles lifted high his leg and urinated with contentment on the gate left wide open.
