Inside Out
(Don Childers)

Publicidade
Upon entering prison Don Childers began to question how he had come to such a fate. How does anyone end up in prison convicted of various crimes? This is the his story told in his own words with the help of his wife and spiritual partner, Tina. In this work we see him go from desolation and ruin to spiritual awakening and complete transformation. He discovers amazing powers of healing that have remained dormant until he began to live his life in a new way. He took to heart the words of Christ who basically lived his life to show that we can do the very same things he did. Don presents the idea in this work that the life of Christ is a blue print for each person.
We see that Don's life is different by the way he deals with the situations that are thrown his way. We find him handling people who have very negative potential in new ways and we find him healing those who need his touch. He puts his hands on those afflicted and as they feel the heat emanating from his palms they are no longer in pain. He becomes a part of a religious group in prison but his personal experience seems to transcend the typical born again Christian slant found in such groups. He can see through the hype and phoniness of the some of the individuals in the group. He is in touch with a whole new way of viewing spirituality that goes way beyond stereotypical foundations of belief.
Trying to go back and live with his wife Kay and his family he finds himself caught up in their complicated and dysfunctional lives. He realizes that he must leave them to their world and strike out on his own to pursue his own destiny. Finally, he finds Tina who apparently is the partner he fits with spiritually. Tina is also a healer and together they begin their work together to live what they feel, know, and believe.
This work is not sophisticated in a literary sense. But the philosophy expounded from the pages of this story is in a whole different category. Don is an ordinary guy who found himself where he didn't want to be and rose to the occasion. He put forth the effort to be a different sort of man and something unexpected reached out to greet him. I would recommend this work to anyone with an interest in spirituality from any background. It shows what can happen when one decides to take dirt and change it into gold. It shows what can occur when one lets go and lets Spirit into his life.
