Feast by Nigella Lawson is a fantastic cookbook and is a must for all budding chefs and alike. From Christmas dinner to Wedding Pavlova. You can cook a whole wonderful and wide variety of delightful feast foods. The photographs in this book are absolutely superb and you feel like you could eat them off the page so you are drawn to make them just to see if they really will turn out the same as the fantastic samples in this book.
Some of the meals in the book are unheard of to me that is not to say that everyone will feel the same way, so we go from roast potatoes and turkey (the what i call normal foods) to INSALATA DI TACCHINO and ZALETI.
There are halloween foods such as SLIME SOUP,BLOOD AND GUTS POTATOES, and GHOUL GRAVEYARD CAKE. Midnight feasts such as SOMERSET RABBIT, BACON AND TOMATO HASH and ALCOHOLIC HOT CHOCOLATE.
I particularly like the idea of the LOVE BUNS, CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY HEART CAKE, and T-BONE STEAK WITH POTATOE WEDGES AND ONION RINGS.
Nigella Lawson writes this book from a normal persons perspective. This a look into her particular recipes that she uses often and it is almost an eye opener into her world and imagination of food.. If you are like me and enjoy her Television show Nigella Bites, then you will love this book and if like me you enjoy both, then you will be on the look out for her other cookbooks.
Nigella writes this book with personality and she herself says "To be sure the recipes matter, and those that follow are ones that matter most to me, but it is what the food says that really counts"
And Nigella's cook book FEAST says eat me.
