A Day In The Desire Machine

Ashley Hartland

What?s her problem? She wants to feel guilty. Does she need a reason?
Yes. She is convinced of it.

She can?t understand why she is rich and beautiful while others are poor
and

awful. She wants an answer but not the kind of answer that demands
personal

changes. Instead she came to Ted. Ted is selling easy answers that
perpetuate

themselves. It takes practice, but he?s getting good at it. At this rate
he?ll be up

for a promotion in no time. Some call him a natural, but what does that
mean?

That?s a question best avoided. It?s a little too pointed to get
comfortable with.

Better to sell it. A high turnover makes it easy to fool your self because
so many

others are along for the ride. Being followed is a great source of
confidence.

Ask Ted. He is following himself to nihilism, and it seems like a great
idea.
