Listen, Little Man!
(Wilhelm Reich)

Publicidade
If the lapidary Know Thyself was Socrates legacy to human kind in general, then Listen, Little Man! is the scream with which W. Reich defies every one of us, in private. Man has evolved and made himself accessible merely typing in a keyboard. But what evolution was this?! From the agricultural society of little more than two hundred years ago to the sofisticated digital man of today, there have been wars and holocausts, racial and religious discrimination, walls of Berlin and spacial coming and going, taboos have fallen and skyscrapers raised, we applaud Nobel and Oscars and the world sees itself directly. But is this the world that we wanted?! Has any of us been consulted ou found?! Was it us who gave approval for it to be this way, or everything is nothing but a great mistake, which we have no courage to undo?! Not everything is wrong, but there is a lot to correct!... Listen, Little Man! is this indeed, an easy reading and absorbing monologue in which we are tempted to identify some of the characters approached with some of the people with whom we live! Some of the passsages seem fun and so accessible that any of us could have written them.
Quickly we get to the end and when the enthusiasm impells us to talk about it, we conclude that the author has achieved his goal. It makes us meditate about what each of us has been doing with his or her own life and consequently, with of everybody else's, be them Western or Eastern, poor or rich, religious or atheists, black or white. This fast-reading book does not need to be on your bedside, because even in the shelf, it shakes the presumedly tranquil consciousness. It has been written for me and maybe for you!...
