The Alchemist is written by Paulo Coelho - one of the most widely read authors in the world.His other books are The Diary of a Magus, The fifth window, eleven minutes, The Devil and Miss Prym. However . The Alchemist remains his best loved books.
It tells us of the magical journey of an Andalusian shepherd boy, who dreams of a treasure ,hidden near the Pyramids of Egypt and travels in quest of it , in the process fulfilling his destiny.
It is the story of a boy who wants to claim the life of his dreams. Through his journey , from his home in Spain he travels to the markets of Tangiers and into the Egyptian desert where he meets an Alchemist. Here he learns about the Soul of the World that God created so that through its visible objects we could understand his spiritual teachings and the marvels of his wisdom.
In every page of this wondrous, magical story are hidden little pearls of wisdom which have a profound and life enhancing impact on the reader.
It inspires the reader to listen to his heart and to follow his dreams and he will find the treasure that he is looking for.
It is a story which touches the core of the reader's heart which is seeking its own destiny in the journey of life.
Truly, an inspiring tale .
