As the author travels on a night journey to Delhi, a beautiful girl enters his train compartment. After criticising his first book (Five Point Someone) as not pertaining to the general Indian youth, she tells him a story of 6 call center agents on the condition that he publishes it as his next book.

Shyam, who used to work in an advertising company as a web designer, quits his job to join Connexions, a call-centre in Gurgaon. On his team is his ex-girlfriend, Priyanka, with whom he has recently broken up after a 4-year relationship. He is trying to move on but is still deeply in love with her. Priyanka has a very difficult mother, who criticizes her as being uncaring and finds Shyam as completely worthless. Priyanka has fights with her mother very often, which leaves her disturbed. Also on the team is Varun, who cannot come to terms to the fact that his parents have split up and continue to fight regularly on the phone. He loves bikes, and changes girlfriends ever so often. But in his heart, he loves Esha, another member of the team. She is the hotest girl on the team and dreams of being a model. However, her dreams are thwarted by the fact that she is not tall enough. The fifth team member is Radhika. Once a modern girl, she is now forced to lead a conservative lifestyle due to her orthodox in-laws. She serves her mother in law throughout the day, and works at the call-centre throughout the night. She draws strength from her love for her husband. The final member on the team is an old man known as the Military Uncle as he once served the military. He doesnt interact much with the younger members of the team. His son's family lives in the US; however, he doesnt live with them as they threw him out due to his conservative ideas.

To add to their miseries, they work under Bakshi, who has little sense, and is extremely lazy and selfish. He believes himself to be extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. Moreover, since the business at their workplace is running out, the members are under pressure of being fired, as headquarters at Boston have asked for the number of workers to be reduced.

The story begins with these members being picked up in the company's car to work at the call-center. As the night progresses, the miseries of each amplify. First, Priyanka declares that her marriage has been arranged with Ganesh, a wealthy engineer working in Microsoft, in the US. This is drastically upsetting for Shyam, who is hoping to get back with Priyanka, once he gets a promotion, and can prove himself worthy to her and her mom. Next, it is revealed that Esha was forced to sleep with a man in order to get a modelling contract. However, this man backs down saying that she is too short to model and sends her some money as compensation. Further, Radhika finds out that her husband is cheating on her. Military Uncle receives a mail from his son asking him not to interfere in his life when he sends some wildlife pictures for his grandson. Next, Bakshi claims complete credit for a project that Varun and Shyam have been working on for months. As a result, he gets a job at Boston, whereas all chances of Shyam's promotion are thwarted.

Depressed with the occurrences of the night, the six members decide to go for a drink. On their way back, they fall in a construction pit and are in the danger of dying as their car precariously balances on construction rods. It is then that they receive a call from God. He speaks to each one of them, and inspires them to set things right in their life. He says that he will give them a second chance and let them live, if they decide to take control of their life.

They decide to quit their jobs, but first set a few things right. They make a plan to falsely blackmail Bakshi, so that he convinces the headquarters to call off the reduction in the number of workers, and gives a period of 2 months to boost business. Secondly, they ask the call-centre agents to call all Americans in their database informing aba virus attack launched by terrorists to harm their economy. To escape this, they have to call Connexions regularly. This boosts their business, and saves hundreds of workers from losing their jobs. Finally, in an effort to stop Priyanka's marriage, they launch an internet search on Ganesh and find him to be bald. On realizing that Ganesh altered his photos to deceive her, she cancels her marriage.

As they leave Connexions, Priyanka and Shyam get back together. Shyam and Varun plan to start their own company. Radhika decides to divorce her husband, and moves to Chandigarh with Esha to start a new life. Military Uncle returns to the US to amend his relationship with his son's family.

As the story ends, so does the journey of the author. He asks the girl why people would believe that God had called these people, only to realize that the girl is also God, who disappears in a blinding light as the train reaches Delhi.
