Mills and Boon Romance is a wonderful asset to the teacher's brief if given the time and space to read light romance then I grab the opportunity with both hands.
I love it when the heroine gets her man: I adore the cliche and I am moved ... by parody or
repetition of a theme or idea ... I feel that you can never have too much of a "good thing". I never understand the reader who is "bored" with all of it! OH! she said at that Literary Party Years ago in London, "I don't understand what you find so amusing in all these trashy books". I assume the contrast is between high culture and low culture! I was up to my neck in water when the phone rang, my mobile of course and I got to talking about the use of
PREFIX:
SUFFIX
and worried about today's critic. he or she never even bothers to /get it right/they just carry on regardless!
I enjoy the use of the iconic name of "Diana" and read with interest how the lady had a first experience of love ... wasn't she the lucky one ... but it ... needless to say, led to:
"disappointment", "unhappiness" and "disillusionment". Try saying all that comfortably at 6 am before a breakfast of Scottish Porridge and honey! I did, and I coughed up the right cadences and rhythms too! Her poor MUM lost her beautiful house, because of her illness but our hero enters fortunately at this stage and saves the day .. will she agree to his proposal to allow her mother to live on in the beautiful house ... would she end up in a loveless marriage ... at least she might lend herself some of the time to reality .. however such is the suffering of the heroine in this great little book ... read on to find how what happens in the end .... great stuff!
