Little Women
(?????? ??? ?????)
This description of the happenings of an American family, during the Civil War, begins on an Christmass evening without presents. The four March family daughtres sit in front of the fire and miss their father, who is at the war, and read a letter he wrote to his Little Women, who fight each one her own battle in their humble home. Beautiful Meg misses the old days, in which, their economic status, and with it everything, she believes, was better. Jo fights the fact that her passion, which ellows her to write imaginary creations, sometimes makes her burst in anger. Kind Bath deals with her lack of confidence and young Amy with her being the youngest, with the disaster of not being able to show off with sweets at school and with the sorrow her non-aristocrathic nose causes her. One day Jo steps into the presence and life of their neighbour, Laurie, and he participates in their adventures ever since. Their maturation is accompanied by difficult fights, dealing with poverty and need, sickness and death, and with the troubles of love. In addition it is sprinkled with parties and spectacles with homemade costumes, enormous kithchen disasters, an old, tough aunt with her own opinion about the way in which a young lady should behave and with family unity power that beats everything. Mag deals with the easy choise to surrander the empty, shallow life of meaningless flirts that her beuty might allow her, and chooses the happy, money lacking marriege to the man she loves. Jo runs away from Lauri?s love to New-York, where she finds maturity and steadiness in her writing as well as in the relationship in her life, and the power to face dear Bath?s illness. Amy blossoms into a woman that her family can be prowd in her kindness and ability. The book does not tell us the story of perfect, without sins and failures heroins. Each one of us can find simmilarities to share with the girls? imparfactions. As well as to learn from the way in which they do not surrender their nature, or the society?s demands and prejudices but seek good, precisely growing from the base of understanding and accepting the frailities of each one of us. This story which is written with compassion, humour, tenderness and love is a must, must, must !!!
