Abstract : A comprehensive guide for becoming successful entrepreneur and turn around the companies which have gone red. In today?s information-age , internet revolution and growing trend in outsourcing , the manufacturing industries of USA are shrinking or getting relocated overseas .Therefore , the increase in jobs are more for lower-skilled workers, service workers which have created underground labor market for immigrants. The author has highlighted that future economy of USA will be people-economy where small to medium size private companies including home business will cater for more than 51 % America?s GDP. The technological advancement in various fields and globalization are facilitating the process of detecting and grabbing moneymaking opportunities. The author has brought out that new generation of entrepreneurs comprising of Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans and a many successful women are creating self employment and employment for others. Keeping this in mind, a large number of colleges and universities are offering special course in entrepreneurship. However, a successful entrepreneur must have eight traits- Aptitude for spotting and seizing opportunities; Gift of leadership; Innovation; Improvisation; Energy and tenacity; Enthusiasm; Pragmatism and Failing-upward. Each of these traits has been explained with real life experience of successful entrepreneur which can act a path way for young enthusiasts. An entrepreneur needs to think freely, do unusual experiments and do different things differently. The trick is stop thinking and start doing, refining , delivering and become customer?s delight. It is not enough to become an entrepreneur but to be a leader through innovations, initiatives and risk taking capability. Some are lucky whose parents or close relative had business experience and influenced their young ones to get into business, while others have to find business tricks the hard way. It is indeed the passion for a job which provides boosting effect to maintain enthusiasm and do the impossible things. Those who have passion for particular line of business, the luck will be on their side. The book provides a method of self judging whether one is really an entrepreneur type and what all he/she should do to be successful. In a highly completive and quality conscience market, entrepreneur must have doggedness to sustains few dips, and maintain momentum to convert his/her dream-ideas into product /service and be first to enter the market. One has to have untiring drive, missionary zeal, mental agility, and optimism to take calculated risk and even if there is a failure let that be a springboard to do it again and do it better. At the end , the author has provided 10 very useful lessons learned by various entrepreneurs ? Know when to fold ; Try harder next time; Stick to what you know best; Make pleasing customers your number one priority; Analyze what you did wrong; Maintain your self-respect; Keep a lid on spending; Expect no sympathy for your snafus ; Don?t assume that all publicity is a good publicity; Realize that success isn?t as important as being in the game. These lessons could provide a road map for all those who have fire in their belly and are exited to become part of ?People Economy?.
