Marriage
(self)
Marriage is an Institution which binds two persons from different backgrounds into one unit. To enjoy a successful marital life both life partners should have proper understanding of each other?s likes & dislikes & should try to ignore shortcomings of the spouse if they are not serious enough. According to Hindu tradition, Marriage is for life & hence there should be an attitude of give & take so that the thrill of Marriage is sustained. Minor tiffs are common so long as they are not assuming serious proportions. Both Husband & Wife should together ensure that the family traditions are maintained & Family honour is never compromised. With the changing times both spouses are required to make an earning to make both ends meet. This situation necessitates sharing & caring for each other during the limited time available when they are together. To run the household both of them should do their share so that the burden is not only on either of them. This in turn will develop closeness between the spouses both at physical as well as psychological levels. Similarly when a child is born in the family both of them should devote sufficient time in nurturing & upbringing of the child. Of late even in India where lot of sanctity is attached to the institution of marriage large no. of such marriages are failing due to the differences in temperaments, harassment , cruelty towards woman etc. ending in divorce. Either the couples are not mature enough or they lack compatability. This incidence is more in respect of love marriages when compared to arranged marriages. In conclusion I may state that Marriage should be treated as a lifetime affair & to the extent possible both the spouses should work out a method by which they live together thru? their lives.http://www.shvoong.com/portfolio/MyAbstracts.aspx
