Country Bumpkins

As a young teenager my lifestyle for younger sister and myself could not of been more different to those of our peer group. We were often told to make our own entertainment. This we were able to fully exercise when one weekend we were both invited to stay at a Rural Craft Centre.We were taught to use a spinning wheel card and dye wool using natural products. This proved to be relaxing pass time. After a hearty vegetarian lunch, it was suggested that we might like to go for a country walk. The idea was more then appealing as we knew we could then let off steam. Safely out of sight we could now be a free sprit. We climbed up a steep escarpment and the would roll down. As we descended we laughed so much our rib cage ached, as did our bellies. We continued this whole process many time over. As we did so we gathered all the colours of the rainbow. From top to bottom we were covered in: red yellow, green, orange and white lambs wool. In short we had the most artistic display of colours from head to toe. We were free from all the cares of the world and of course making our own entertainment. Only our thirst and hunger told us it was time to walk back to the Craft Centre. As soon as we approached the Cotswold Centre door was opened by our kindly host. She smiled brightly at us both and suggested we took a shower. The bathroom was immaculate until we both entered. All was forgiven at mealtime. The meal was memorable for several reasons. firstly there was quit contemplation no meat of any kind was served there was even time for general conversation.
After bringing in the entire contents of the surrounding countryside be were not encouraged to take any more long walks. I wonder why? Instead we were involved in the process of bread making. Firstly we gowned up as much as possible with aprons. Well I am sure this was intended to keep us both fully occupied. Hopefully might even be rewarded with some later.
