Werfel, of direct style, but for that reason less nondeep does not display its narrative office having a feeling through its words the human sense of its approach; In history de la Cruz this observation is demonstrated. In a fact, that years later it would be classic of abuse practiced by the Nazi hordes, it makes us conclude, that differences between catholics and Jews are mere formalities when kindness, badness or heroísmo are being questions of smaller nature at the time of defining themselves and taking party an injustice as opposed to... It is in last story of this trilogy, which narrates the history of a family, whose father is a rigid career military person and tradition; the one that tells us is the son, victim of a dictatorial father who does not let breathe to him nor his mother... The boy is to us narrating routines and exigencies that he is put under in the military school and house in exhausting form, by this father, whose attitude leaves deep sequels in that home; the mother has been annulled completely bequeathing to lose until her feminidad... She is in this surroundings where this exciting history narrated by Werfel is developed skillfully, that passed away young and was friend of Kafka having itself influenced mutually, according to my modest opinion; she said that also she noticed certain similar with Stephan Zweig, another contemporary his... It is remarkable in Werfel, as she is marking the sense of the time in this I complete story, doing to us to transpose with the personage his childhood and adolescence without greater effort; she is possible to emphasize the passage, indeed, when our personage turns thirteen years is taken to a Park of Diversions by the father, species of general test of all the learned one of this opresivo father, taking place a synthesis luck of which until that moment we have read, a luck of end before the end whose effect is to add more interest in the reader, reserving to us another surprise for the aim...
