Mobile Suit Gundam Novel Collection
(Kenny Porter)

Publicidade
Considered a time honored classic in Japan, Mobile Suit Gundam
is a universe in and of itself. It has spawned countless TV series,
books, manga, action figures, and not to mention a slew of model kits
and merchandise.

In 1987, Mobile Suit Gundam creator
Yoshiyuki Tomino took his original story of the fueding space colonies
and the Earth government from it's animated form to a novelization
trilogy that explored more aspects of the Gundam universe and it's
characters.

Where the cartoon series takes us both in space and on the ground, the
novels take place completely in space and the characters never make it
to the Earth. Amuro Ray, the main character and pilot of the Gundam, is
already in the military and stationed on the White Base carrier
(instead of being a civilian who just happens upon the Gundam).

It has a much more adult feel to the characters and their internal
struggles, and some characters have been completely revamped and given
different positions. Instead of a chief expert in guerilla warfare, Lt.
Ramba Ral is nothing more then a secret police operative that works
under the Zeon government.

Despite many differences to the original plot lines, I highly reccomend
this novelization for any Gundam or anime fan. Especially due to the
much more powerful ending the novels provide.
