The Skittle Policeman
Angela, the little girl threw away her Skittle policeman out of the window. He was one of the nine skittle men from her box. He was hit seven times over the face with the red ball and his nose was broken and rolled over in to the corner. The little girl did not like to have a disfigured toy. He fell in to the wet grass and was hurt. It rained hard whole day and his blue paint got washed in the rain. All other toys scorned at him and turned him away.
He walked away and came to a hill side. A small brownie was trying to lift toad stools to arrange them in place where magic bus of toys stop. He helped brownie in lifting the stones. The brownie heard his story and decided to help him. Twelve brown and gold bees came at the strange humming sound made by the brownie and they got him glue.
Brownie heated the glue over the fire and stuck the nose in its place for the scuttle. Though it was stuck in a wee bit crooked way it looked nice.
An elf who paints bluebells was called by the brownie and she painted his body in light blue colour. After he got his blue uniform they got him a job as a police man in the toy town to control the traffic. He felt very proud to do his job.
One day when he was on duty the toys from Angela?s nursery came riding too fast in a big motor car driven by the sailor skittle. He waved them to stop. They all recognized him and looked at him with fear and admiration. He told them to move along in his deepest voice.
The skittle police married the elf, who painted his blue uniform and lived happily ever after.
