TICK TOCK TEA PARTY

Tick-Tock, the brownie was always happy, though he is working very hard for his master. He had to keep the house tidy for his master, wash his clothes and cook food for him. He also helped his master Wind-Whistle, the enchanter in his spells.

One day the Princess of Blue-Hills and two of her court came to visit the enchanter. Brownie was worried that there was no tea powder, cakes or jam in the house to arrange for tea for the princess. The enchanter asked him to bring only hot water in the kettle and empty dishes and lay down the table for tea party. To Brownie?s surprise the enchanter poured into cups Indian tea as well as Chinese tea from the tea pot. He also got chocolate cakes, strawberry jam and cherry buns for the guests.

Brownie thought it was so easy to do magic. So, next day in the absence of his master he invited all his friends for a tea party. He wore enchanter?s magic cloak which was much bigger for him. He brought the hot water in the tea kettle and he ordered for the tea to come forth. He also ordered Gooseberry jam, Chocolate roll, Coconut buns, and cherry cake, and Plum Jam, Marmalade and Sponge fingers all at once. They started appearing in the dishes overflowing the containers and then bouncing straight in great numbers. They started filling the table and poured over to the floor. The tea pot could not be kept on the table. It started lifting on its own and poured tea all over. The tea was poured in to his ear, on his dress and onto the floor.
All the guests were frightened and ran away. Tea was poured all over the cloak. He went to wash the cloak. By the time he was back, some one shouted at him to come out of the house. To his dismay, He saw a stream of tea running down the path mixed with butter, jam, marmalade, and cakes of all kinds bobbing up and down the stream. Luckily the enchanter returned by that time and chanted some magic words. Tea pot obeyed and put itself in to the sink to be washed up. The cakes, jam, marmalade and butter stopped pouring. Wind-Whistle forgave Tick-Tock and he will never again think of another tea party.
