Attaining The World Beyond
(Miachael Laitman)

Publicidade
Few months ago my partner and I visited a spiritual Guru here in Mumbai. It was certainly not our idea but we were invited by my mom's friend who comes to India very often all the way from Hawaii just to listen to this Indian Guru.

So we gave it a shot.We were shocked when they told us that they had reserved the front seats for us to chat with this guru. Centre stage is definitely not a comfortable place to take when you don't know what is about to come.

So we ended up talking about life and philosophy of life. His message was simple - We do not have any power of our own. We are just placed in a situation and we have to deal with it. The plan is already set and whatever you do and whatever you achieve it is not you, but it is the God who does that through you. You cannot change anything. You are powerless.

Both my partner and I were resistant to the idea and we made that clear in not so subtle words. So it was like saying - NO we do not agree - when there were people from different parts of the world around to buy whatever he was pouring down on their plates.

As I write this and think about it I feel his message had some truth, but just the way he put it, I don't think he did a very good job. I was reading this book 'Attaining the worlds beyond' by Miachael Laitman which made me think about this again after so long. The book is about Kabbalah. And it talks almost in much the same lines but it is more refined.
For example one of the things it said was the same - we are placed in a situation and we have to deal with it. But it also says that the 'creator' gives us the free will to act in the way we want. And our actions decide whether we move close to him or away from him. What I found interesting was that it answers many questions. Like if God loves us why does he make us suffer? It says that in the times of suffering people think about him more and become stronger. Most of the times our ego takes over our altruism. And it is his way of reminding us what is really important.

Although I do not believe in belonging to ONE religion, I do believe in the one creator. And this book although is on Kabbalah talks sense. I have been so much happier and at peace with myself and have realized how I can be happier if I can keep my ego aside and think and act objectively.

I would not do justice to the message in that book with my limited vocabulary. But all I am saying is that guy (the guru) could have done better if he had worked on his communication skills. And by not making all the people sing some (Hindu) religious poems in Marathi (regional language of the place). Do you have ANY idea how funny it can sound ...a bunch of phirangs(foreigners) trying to sing in that language not able to pronounce the words properly or even understand what it meant.

EWWW I am bickering - 'the creator' would not be pleased by this.
