He comes to plead the cause of his brother, Titus Andronicus, who has shown great brewery and skills as a general against the Goths. On hearing this appeal both Bassianus and Saturninus agree to abide by decision of the people. A coffin is brought into the capitol; Lucius and Quintius, sons of Titus Anronicus following it. Many Goth prisoners are in the procession. As the coffin is being placed in the tomb Lucius asks his father to him ?the proudest prisoner of the Goths? that he may kill as his own brother had been killed. Titus gives him Alarbus, the eldest son of Tamora, Queen of the Goths. He is slain immediately, and his brother Marcus also comes to entreat him and weeps over the fallen, and his brother Marcus also comes to entreat him to become a candidate for the throne; as do also his sons. He declines the honour. The people then request Titus to choose, and Saturnicus is elected. The newly- appointed Emperor than asks the hand of Lavinian the daughter of Titus.
