In the sixth and second to last book about Harry Potter professor Dumbledore him on a remarkable journey with the aid of a "pensieve".
The idea being to get to know Voldemorts character through his family history, and we get to know a number of new people that, one way or another, will show themselves to be important in Harrys search for
knowledge; Voldemort's grandfather, mother, father and uncle; people who knew him
as a child and teenager and more. Several new characters turn up; teachers, politicians, a new werewolf - although not as nice as Remus Lupin? Harry learns to network, to relocate himself and to cast spells without speaking them out loud. Draco, whose father was arrested for cooperation with Voldemort at the end of
the previous book, grows from a morose, childish rich kid into shrewd enemy intent on getting revenge on Harry. We get an insight in Dracos psyche halfway through the book, an important clue to what will happen later, and thanks to this we finally start to see the outline of Dumbledores grand plan. Several love-stories are played out. Ron and Harry both find themselves girlfriends, Hermione is courted by a number of suitors, and the Weasley family are planning a wedding. Throughout the book, we get small clues to an unlikely love story that surprises all at the end of the book, when two unlikely characters get together. The story takes a dramatic turn that evening when Dumbledore takes Harry out on a dangerous mission. What should have been a simple treasure hunt ends in treachery, Deatheaters, violent struggles, werewolves, lacerated faces, broken relationships and a murder. Before the last book the wizard's whole world has been turned upside down, and now anything can happen.
