How To Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci
(Michael J. Gelb)
I am about to share with you an abstract for the book How to think like Leonardo Da Vinci by Michael J. Gelb. This book I discovered not because I was looking for it and had it in mind, but I found it by chance. I will first tell you the story of how I discovered this book. I was in Vancouver Canada with my parents because of surgery and i just got word that it would finally (8 surgeries later) be the last one. I am 20 by the way So in celebration my parents knew i loved books and loved to write so they took me to Chapters, a large book store. There in that store my family and I wondered around casually. My dad noticed a whole entire section of the book store devoted to Da Vinci, because of the new movie and started looking through the books. My mom and I went to the near by travel section. My mom and dad were planning to go RVing around the United States and saw a thick book the size of a city telephone book, on RVing around the U.S.A. She got excited about it and went to show my dad. My dad who was still looking at the Da Vinci books remarked " That would be a great book for Samantha(me) to do her kneck excercises that the chiropracter told her to do." This excercise is to get a thick book like the one I just mentioned, put it down on the floor and lay down with your head resting on the book. This gives your kneck and spine a nice streach and helps with headaches caused by tention. Just as my dad mentioned that he opened the book he had in his hand (this book) casually to the exact page that also descirbed this very excercise and this was the first time my dad ever picked up this book. That was pretty weird and my dad thought it must be a sign to buy that book. So as Leonardo says, there are no coinsidences. I shall now briefly describe the book. This book starts off explaining about Leonardo and then it goes on to explain how you can think like Da Vinci. Thse are the steps mentioned in the book to becoming a "genious" every day. 1. Curiosity. Let yourself be curious about life. Curiousity did not always kill the cat. This means ask questions about things you don't know about or want to know more about. Research them untill you find the answer you're looking for. As Leo said " Great Minds ask Great Questions." 2. Realize your ideal hobby and do it! "Geniouses don't make excuses" List what you like and choose from there. 3. Learn a new Language. Helps for travel, and for broader job opportunities and makes you smarter. 4. Build Your Vocabulary. Learn new words every day and use them. 5.Dimostrazione:Commitment to test knowledge through experience, Persistence and a willingness to learn from mistakes. 6. Check your belief sources and change the ones you don't like (People hurt you, trace where it came from and if there is no evidence change it) 7. Affirmations repeated thoughts ex. I am beutiful, New opportunities of abundance are available to me etc. 8.Learn from role models. She's a great actress (join a dramma club) She's beutiful ( go to your doctor and see what your weight should be or just eat healthy and excerise. or He's so smart and rich ( get knowledge by going to school or read. and finally Sensazione:The continual refinement of the senses, sight, taste, smell, touch, sound by experience. Ex. Smell the flowers, listen to the birds, look at art work, eat ripe fruit etc. another way to improve is improve your weaknesses like learn geography, basic math etc. improve your strengths ex join toast master or a writing club if thats your strength. Listen to jazz, classical and international music. and eat exotic foods helps to do it before you travel. Finally pray every day for the world pray for better health, abundance, and world peace. Be compassionate and understanding put your self in others shoes and thank those who provide for you. If you like this tell people and leave a comment. thanks. to know more buy the book or check your library or local book store under self help, or whatever category your interested
