Effects Of Prophylactic Aspirin And Exercise On The Coronary Artery Disease
(sunyana)
Trial regarding effect of Aspirin on the coronary heart disease was conducted which included 200 survivors of heart attacks in two different studies and use of aspirin to reduce incidence of heart attack was examined. Several doses of aspirin ranging from 325 mg to 1,500 mg daily were used and patients were enrolled at various intervals after infarction ranging from four weeks to one year. Not a single study demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in mortality with aspirin use. So if no single study demonstrated a benefit, how did aspirin produced a reduction of mortality. When all the results from these results from these studied were pooled, aspirin was shown to produce a reduction in mortality rate from all causes and cardiovascular deaths The mortality rate for all causes n the aspirin group was 5.8% compared to 8.3% in the placebo group, indicating a reduction in mortality by 30% with aspirin. Aspirin and non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are associated with significant risk of peptic ulcer. It is not known that 75 mg of aspirin per day is helpful in preventing a second heart attack, so most recommended is 300mg. Regular exercise exerts a powerful positive effect on mood. Tension, depression, feelings of inadequacy and worries diminish greatly with regular exercise. Exercise alone has been demonstrated to have a tremendous impact on improving mood and ability to handle stressful situations. A study was conducted in which it was found that increased participation in exercise, sports and physical activities is strongly associated with decreased symptoms of anxiety (restlessness, tension and so on ), depression(feelings that life is not worthwhile, low spirits), and malaise(rundown feeling, insomnia and so on). Simply stated, people who participate in regular exercise have higher self esteem and are happier. Regular exercise has been shown to enhance powerful mood-elevating substances in the brain known as endorphins. These compounds exert similar effects to morphine. In fact there name(endo, endogenous, rophins, morphines) was given to them because of their morphine-like effects. There is a clear association between exercise and endorphin elevation and when endorphins go up, mood follows. If the benefit of exercise are put in a pill, one would have the most powerful health promoting medication available. Coronary benefits of Regular Exercise: 1) Lowers resting heart rate. 2) Strengthens heart function. 3) Lowers blood pressure. 4) Improves oxygen delivery throughout the body. 5) Increases blood supply to muscles. 6) Enlarges the arteries to the heart.
