The Pilot's Wife
(Anita Shreve)

Publicidade
This is the novel of a wife who wakes up in the middle of the night to learn that her husband, a commercial pilot, has been killed in a crash. Left alone with her teenage daughter, she mourns and makes funeral arrangements with the help of a representative from the pilot's union. As time goes by, and she attempts to reestablish her life without her husband in it, uncomfortable truths about the nature of the crash begin to come out. First it is declared pilot error, then suicide. As she struggles with these facts, she begins to discover hints of other secrets that her husband may be keeping. A poem in a book and a phone number on the back of a receipt set her on a quest to learn who her husband really was.

The chapters of this book that tell the story are interspersed with flashback chapters which create a history of the marriage between these two very different people.
