Dr . Atkins' New Diet Revolution
(Atkins, Robert C. MD.)
Oh great, another diet book! Why are we as American's so hyped up on dieting? In ancient days people who had a "healthier" weight we considered beautiful and stable. Thin people were considered weak and push overs. So why, are we trying to be weak? American's are constantly trying to keep up with the Holywood image of beautiful. You know, the image that says, you're an ugly woman unless you wear a size 2 and an ugly man if your body is not toned and rippeling with muscle like us. I happen to be of the belief that we are all beautiful people created and fashion by the hand of a being much more intellegant then us. If this is how we were created, why are we in such a hurry to change it? When will we learn to relish the beautiful people that we are? I admit, there are people out there who have serious issues with weight. More times then not, those beautiful people also have a medical condition that attributes to their issues with weight. But are these the people who spend billions of dollars a year on diet pills, books, and meals? No! The average person who waste their money on these self glorified poopers are the people who are already beautiful, thin, healthy, and active. They have one downfall: their pride of physical apperance. In most country's the older people of the society are served with reverence and respect. In our country, people are afraid to get old. Let's face it, weight and saggyness come with age. We can't find the fountian of youth, so we try to pill pop and needle our way to it. Let's just be who we are. Enjoy life without being obsessed with our weight. A for crying out loud, Holywood, quit making us feel quilty and ugly for be who we are!
