The Greek Gods
(BERNARD EVSLIN, DOROTHY EVSLIN,NED HOOPES)

The book Greek Gods was a fascinating which kept me hooked till the last word. It is a reflection of the people of ancient times their fears, their beleifs and their ways of life.
Primitive man was always asking questions and trying to find answers;he was challenged by unknown, and since there were no established laws laws of science, no acknowledging authorities, he found himself magnificent answers in the form of stories. The collection of the imaginative stories became the mythology we have today.

This mythology has significance for several reasons. It has been kept alive long after the culture in which it evolved has dissapeared. if we want to trace our own heritage back to the past, mythology mythology offers excellent way of doing it.

This book also tells us the enthrolling stories known as Nature Myths which also reveals human character which hasn't changed much even in modern times. It tells the story of Pandora and how her foolish curiosity lead to misfortune. There are even stories of Narcissus and Echo,Eros and Pssche, Arion etc.

These myths also manifest themselves suprisingly in myriad ways in our modern world, in the names of planets, in the name of space ships etc and above all we use everyday in our concentration.
