I'd be interested in what anyone has to say.
The first time I logged on tonight, I was looking at a particular blog. I didn't write anything, but I was a little shocked. The blog was posted by a new believer, but she didn't shock me. I've heard the same questions asked before by new converts. What shocked me was some of the responses.
First I want to say this. When you join a church, or give your life to Christ, you come under Christ's authority and the authority of the church in question. Christ's authority takes precedence. Your leaders must abide by the Word of God. Trust me when I say if everything about the Bible is murky, the only thing that wouldn't be is the responsibilities of the leaders. You can point them out to your leader if you feel they are doing something wrong. If they cannot get in line with the Word of God, then you save your own soul and leave.
The Bible does not play about the purpose it sets out to accomplish. The writer of Hebrews was not afraid to say "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12). It goes where you don't want it to go. It puts your business out there. Now if you have decided that you want to go to heaven Christ's way, then you gotta do what you gotta do.
The Bible says no fornication. Cut it out! The Bible acts you to trust in God...start trusting in Him. we'd rather it not reach. That's what you get for walking into the House of God. I'd be thankful for it.Because it means that God is trying to get me to clean up and not be weighed down and left behind."For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"(1 Peter 4:17).
I know that you might be scared, I know. My mother is the bravest woman I know, because she was raising three girls alone when she gave her life to God. If she even thought about depending on a relationship to bring her through, God showed her that person's feet of clay. She depended on him, she's not a millionaire, but she's a homeowner,with her car paid off and a secure job. She's blessed, because she didn't start off with all that.
This is where I'm questioning your trust. If God is all-powerful, all magnificent, all glorious, able to add all things to you, what are you scared of? Its tough, but Jesus never promised anybody easy. I've never seen anyone just pick up a big old cross and walk steady. Uh Uh, but Jesus says pick up your cross and follow me.Every trial we overcome is a jewel in our crown. We gotta suffer with him to reign with him. Its the best suffering though, because you're not alone going through it.
Now a church that judges its members needs a good beating. How are you helping save that soul?"Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God."(1 Corinthians 4:2-5) The Leader should not be coming down on you but giving you an arm to help you to stand.They have been given a trust-you. They should not see a mother struggling with her kids and just letting it slide. I can't find the verse right now...but God through Paul tells us to put up or shut up. Stop saying "Oh the Lord will bless you," and not helping. God could use you to be the blessing! You know what the tithe and offerings are for? For the minister? Hahaha! Its so that there is meat in God's storehouse..meaning, a member needs some mchurch should give it to her! A brother needs food? The church should give him some groceries. That's what that money is for.Hence, when the church operates as the HOUSE OF GOD, like it ought, a new believer shouldn't be stressed out.
