In any case Ocean Sea is his masterpiece, a book that is very amazing.

Elisewin, sixteen-years-old girl, departs to face a travel in the sea that can recover her from the fear to disappear, from that feeling of extraneity that make her to feel herself neither live neither dead, without a destiny.
Father Pluche, her escort, sent from the girl father, the baron of Carewall, dishes out thoughts that go beyond the prudishness that a priest would have, and writes a book of insane prayers that border on the delirium.
The beautifull Ann Deverià comes from far away, sent from the husband, at the sea, to induce her to forget her lover, the man of her life.
Plasson, famous painter that hates his admirers, is attempt to paint where start the sea using only paint-brush and marine water. But outside of his mind, these works are only dozens and dozens of completely white canvass.
Partleboom, scientist with the romantic mind, writer of love letters, enclosed in a trunk waiting to meet the woman of his life, is fixed to write the Encyclopedia of the limits in nature and to discover where finish the sea.
Adams, a shipwreck, in the sea has discovered the absolute and dark Truth.
Then there is the mysterious man of the seventh room; Dira, a toddler of sharp language, hidden behind the reception; Dood, always seated on the window to watch the sea; Ditz that gives dreams; Dol that notices the ships, the eyes of the sea.
All these lives, those passes and those hopes are picked up in the small locanda Almayer, a pleasant pension managed from childrens, in river to the sea; a sea that is without any space and without any time.
The river that is not neither sea neither earth, without borders.
The Ocean exterminated, terrible, murderous, healer, defender.
The plot of stories is tangled and chaotic, than resolves itself at the last pages of the book, leaving you shocked: without warning, after a confusing fog, you can see the sea, a million of drops that the author has left one after one;
And you understand that for a long time, with his way to write, with empty spaces in the text, with repetitions, with infinite periphrasis, Baricco was whispering you: What?s truly the ocean-sea?
