Full of the provincial journalist's finely honed skill for making mountains out of molehills this is another healthy dose of satire from Britain's finest.
Discworld is a fantasy world that is firmly rooted in English provincial culture - though anybody without an advanced qualification in psychiatry would be hard pressed to explain how.
Never quite sure whether we're really dealing with the Town Clerk of Beaconsfield or the Mayor of High Wycombe, we are taken on another journey on the wings of Mr Pratchett's unconfined imagination.
As with all the discworld novels, we feel at home with the characters without quite remembering exactly where we have come across them. This is another great and light-hearted view of humankind.
