Prepare For The Storm

Prepare for the storm

Have you prepared for the storm?

hmmm... I am still in the midst of a small storm.

God is faithful. I look back at the last post on faith and crises of belief and I am still there.

We just celebrated Resurrection Sunday (Easter) and we remembered God's amazing gift to us -- undeserved salvation. What were the disciples doing after Good Friday? Weeping and grieving... when Mary came to tell them that Jesus had risen, they did not believe.

We learned about the burning hearts of the two walking on the road away from Jerusalem and Jesus in disguise walking and reminding them of the scriptures and the fulfillment of prophecy. Their hearts were strangely warm and burning in the presence of the risen king.

How often do we not recognize Jesus in our midst? He may be disguised but his spirit is present

One of my favorite teachers, TD Jakes, was just saying that we should hang on in the midst of the storm. Hang on because Jesus is about to walk on the water and come to us and calm the storm.

TD says we should prepare for storms. Once in storms (unprepared), we need to hang on, hang in there and remember that God is always faithful. If we miss our moment, if we miss our opportunity to be faithful during the storm, we could miss the abundant blessing that God has in store for us on the other side. WOW.

Does that convict you like it does me? What if you hang in there and cling to God's promises to you and you face the storm with courage and hope? What if the storm is just a test on the journey to your destiny? What if the storm was placed in your life for specific God ordained purposes? I have to admit I have been discouraged.

I sometimes lose hope. I forget -- even if it is just for a moment -- that God is going to deliver me from the storm. He is. He really is. I also am reminded that even in the midst of the storm, God is providing for me. He is. There is manna in the morning, everyday. Thank you Lord.

Have you thanked the Lord for your provision in the storm? Have you asked him what you need to focus on during the storm?

Has he spoken a word to you about what you should do next?

Next post, let's discuss hearing God's voice. A friend recently said, how do you truly discern God's voice? His will? How do you know for sure what you are to do?

Until then, do not lose hope. God is with you even in the storm. He is providing for you in your time of trial. Be faithful. Hang on. Seek his face. The blessings on the other side of the storm will be something to behold. I am waiting with great anticipation. I am actually getting excited!
