Man cannot save himself through works
Fri 10th of February 2006 11:26:57 PM
The principle that man can save himself by his own works lies at the foundation of every heathen religion. Wherever it is held, men have no barrier against sin. Sin has become a science, and vice has become consecrated as a part of religion in the churches of the land. But God has sent His son to provide a way for the salvation of the world. Heaven and earth are no wider apart today than when shepherds listened to the angels? song. Humanity is still as much the object of heaven?s solicitude as when common men of common occupations met angels at noonday, and talked with the heavenly messengers in the vineyards and the fields. The gift of Christ reveals the Father?s heart. It declares that while God?s hatred of sin is as strong as death, His love for the sinner is stronger than death. Having undertaken our redemption, He will spare nothing, however dear, which is necessary to the completion of His work. There is no one who need despair that his case is too hopeless, too far gone for the redeeming love of Christ to rescue him from the depths of misery and despair.

Force contrary to God's principles
Mon 06th of February 2006 11:06:31 PM
The exercise of force is contrary to the principles of God?s government. He desires only the service of love; and love cannot be commanded; it cannot be won by force or authority. Only by love is love awakened. To know God is to love Him; His character must be manifested in contrast to the character of Satan who deludes men to doubt the word of God; to distrust His goodness and to look upon Him as severe and unforgiving, even using religion to sustain this deceit. Only one Being in the universe could manifest the true character of God to man. Christ was willing to voluntarily step down from the throne of the universe, come down to this earth, and take the form of a servant, that He might through His redeeming love ransom this sin-darkened world. If you want true peace and joy, only the love of Christ filling your heart will meet that need

The secret to a changed life
Wed 01st of February 2006 11:13:41 PM
Why is it that despite our best intentions, our most sincere promises, and idealistic goals that we still make such a muddle of life? It is impossible for us, of ourselves, to escape from the pit of sin in which we are sunken. Our hearts are evil, and we cannot change them. ?Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.? Job 14:4 ?The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.? Romans 8:7. Education, culture, the exercise of the will, human effort, all have their proper sphere, but here they are powerless. They may produce an outward correctness of behavior, but they cannot change the heart; there must be a power working from within, a new life from above, before men can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ. His grace alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, and attract it to God, to holiness. This is the secret to a truly changed, transformed life.

Before the foundation of the world
Tue 31st of January 2006 08:10:49 PM
The plan for our redemption was not an afterthought, a plan formulated afterthe fall of Adam. "But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you." 1 Peter 1:19,20. God did not ordain that sin should exist, but He foresaw its existence, and made provision to meet the terrible emergency. So great was His love for the world, that He covenanted to give His only-begotten Son, "that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

What an infinitely, priceless gift! I invite you to accept freely the gift of a life that measures with the life of God.

Inviting Christ to live in us
Tue 31st of January 2006 06:31:24 AM
Entry to heaven is possible for all. God, in offering His only begotten to die for sinners, has opened the way back for all who would believe in Jesus. Believing in Jesus opens the way for Christ to reside in one?s heart. When this very special event takes place, an instantaneous miracle takes place in the heart, whereby the long cherished enmity to God?s law is replaced by a strong desire to so what is pleasing to God. Delighting to keep God?s commandments is the outcome of Christ?s residing in the heart by faith. In addition to this palpable benefit, when Christ is allowed to reside in the heart, He enables the sinner to resist victoriously all the temptations of Satan. For, Christ has faced the very temptations that we face today, and He overcame them. He is ready to empowers to overcome Satan. Oh, I would not want for a second, after tasting the joys of His residing in my heart, to push Christ out of my heart. Would you want to invite Christ as permanent guest in your heart? Just do it!
