Mrs Flor And Her Two Husbands
(Jorge Amado)

Publicidade
As a passionate by Jorge Amado's work I am pleasure to talk about this masterpiece of his huge work which, reaching so much success, was stared on the cinema and on television letting us know the sensibility on describing so well the brazilian north-east culture, the religious sincretism, the love that remains intact even after death and the surprisingly way the author conducts his achievements as shows Flor's first affair, who had died in this rich and some times comic history. One of the main points of the romance is about a moral conflit by which the protagonist, Mrs Flor, passes through. She tries to resist his former husband attempts, which has already died, to be with her and continue being her man, because now she has a new husband which is very honest and a good father. Certainly, in the 70th, when the movie was exibited for the first time in a country that was trying to find its moral guidelines, this romance triggered a deep reflection about fidelity in the presence of the noble feeling that makes the dynamic of life... the love. Is it possible for someone that loves to be judged for her choices as well as for corrupting a formal relationship? Noble for its essence, love is religiously the active representation of God. So, how can it lead to a moral mistake? Certainly, looking for the ideal way of realting, human beings try to join the fellings about the person they relate to stablish a stable modus vivent, healthy and plesurable and in this search, not rarely they mix the most precious feature of men, his capacity to love fully, with other feelings that are classified by society as correct and morally acceptable. Submitting ourselves to that we can get into unions that are based on financial stability or on seeking a kind of happiness that is not created without comprehending that love is always the same, but the commitments switch to express this love in a coherent and healthy way. Moreover, we can love a great friend as much as we love a husband ou wife and a ex-husband as much as a son, but for each case we have a different commitment: philos (love of friends), father's, son's, mother's etc. Comprehending on this way there are no conflicts, no repressions of feelings and what we feel can be expressed in it's full way inside our acceptable commitments for each situation, after all, sex is not pre-requisit for a relation among people we love. The solution that Mrs Flor found can be not the most orthodox, but facing the situation, cause for many reflections, it had a satisfactory upshot for the life of the character. Would it fit to your life?
