This book comprises four chapters. The first is a preamble with the psychology of the rumor, its importance, its types, its characteristics and the conditions of its success. The second chapter brings back some rumors emitted in the war of. In the third chapter the author presents some techniques of the rumor. The last chapter is devoted it to the analysis of some examples of rumors.The author approaches the relation between the policy and sciences social and psychological to note that the policy succeeded in mobilizing these sciences for its own interest. The book considers the rumor an illustration of the use of psychological medicine by the politicians with an aim of influencing the public opinion. It is a well planned strategy registered within the framework of the psychological warfare tending to obtain political assets without resorting to the direct military solutions. The author starts his book by the exposure of some rumors and their psychological aspect in their articulation with propaganda in general and with competition in particular. In the shutter practices the author presents the rumors the most recent impetuses before and during the Iraqi war by noting that the majority of them were cancelled by the facts on the ground. Thus the coalition Americano-British had launched the rumor of the possession of the mode of Saddam of the nuclear weapons and massive destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq in spite of the opposition of UNO. When the facts cancelled these rumors, it was claimed that the services of information had exaggerated the imminent danger of the Iraqi president in this time. Some rumors are not necessarily untrue, but that does not exclude their manipulation by their authors to influence the public opinion and to direct it towards the assigned objectives, declared or not. Thus the author remembers us the year 1953 when an agent of information had tested celebrates vaccine of the truth on one of his friends to test his effectiveness to draw the consents from the spies or the accused. It also points out to us the experiments in the field of the education of the brilliant children, qnd of hereditary engineering for the reproduction of the geniuses. The Nazism was the first to have launched this type of rumors, followed by the USA then by the old USSR. the launchers of rumors gradually introduce misleading expressions such as for example the intelligent bombs or the clean war for those dirtiest and most fatal or the friendly weapons to justify the dramatic burs of the drunk or doped soldiers. the rumor is thus according to the author an assumption or an expression which one launches so as to test or to prepare the public opinion with arbitrary and unpopular decisions. It is a mean of communication in terms of misinformation to convey generally untrue contents. the author quotes several types of rumors: - the crawling rumor is that which one diffuses in small jets and discretely to give the illusion that they are serious and confidential questions - the fulgurating rumor is of a very fast diffusion, in the case of a natural disaster or of a war. - the floating rumor is intermittent and reappears punctually each time they are similar events - the rumor of optimism is that which wants to give the hope to those which suffer and feel oppressed and forsaken for their account - the discriminating rumor which gives an opinion for counters an ethnos group or a religion or an ideology, by disseminating the information veracious but deformed contrary to reality. - the distressing rumor is that which creates a public psychosis for justifies makes exaggerate the terrorist threats to apply restrictive laws of freedom. - The predictive rumor which, on the basis of positive preceding event. - The mystical rumor is that which exploits the mythological or religious popular beliefs. - the rumor in the form of anecdote to find the lost smile. On the individual level, the rumor is used to give a good impression of somebody to obtain a not deserved popularity.
