Genesis
(The Bible)

Publicidade
The Genesis is considered to be the first book of the Bible, but not many are aware that it was actually written as a group of stories to help latter day faithful to understand the divine intervention of God in human affairs.
The first story of the Creation for example, presents to us a picture of resurrection, the Light rises out of the darkness, like a veritable phoenix rising from ashes. it is used to explain, through dramatic imagery that when life seems desolate and dark, with no hope, then somewhere there's hope, what's required of us is to look beyond the obvious.
Similarly the story of Adam's fall, is actually an inherent reference to man's basic quest for knowledge, it showcases the fact that the thirsing for knowledge for a reward other than knowledge's sake is a dangerous obsession, which will ultimately result in down fall. knowledge when not coupled with prudence and wisdom is a horrific entity. A prime example of this, the current quest for immortality through cryotechnology and cloning.
The imagery in the book of Genesis is a reflection of every age and time, it's a mirror that shows us our fraility as human beings. it is less a book and more a way of life. what's required is to look beyond the obvious, and interpret this wonderful book of the Bible, to bring a new awakening in this world, a world torn with hunger, strife, terrorism and pain. the underlying message is to rise up beyond our pettiness and strive to make this world a beautiful and wonderful place.
