The Rose Arch tells the tale of young Jenny Heron. Born in England but raised in the French countryside by family friends while her mother is grows her business as a seamstress in 1895, Jenny lives a carefree and happy life. But one innocent kiss before her sixteenth birthday turns Jenny's life upside down as she is whisked away to an upscale private girls' school outside of Paris where her mother can keep a closer eye on her. While being closer to her mother is a great source of joy to Jenny, she begins to suspect there is more to her mother's past and present than she knows. Never one to question those she loves, Jenny focuses on school and watches her new friend Kate tumble into a tragic life for the sake of love, but before Jenny can help her, her own life is engulfed in tragedy. She soon finds herself living with strangers and about to embark on her own forbidden love affair. Unable to see the truth about her mother, Jenny finds herself confronted with her mother's past and the dire consequences of her own actions.
