The Runaway Jury
(John Grisham)

Publicidade
Wendell Rohr is a lawyer suing a big tobacco company on behalf of his client, a widow whose husband has died of lung cancer due to constant smoking. Rankin Fitch is the man hired by the tobacco companies to win the trial for them, by jury fixing and other dark means, already having done so on numerous occasions in the past. The trouble begins for Fitch when a juror, Nicholas Easter, emerges as the unofficial leader and begins to manipulate the jury from the inside, collaborating with his girlfriend, Marlee, on the outside. Both have been planning this scheme for years and appear capable of getting any verdict that they desire. The real reason behind the plan comes to light only towards the end.
Grisham produces a fast paced, courtroom thriller with non-stop action. It?s one of his best books, along with ?The Rainmaker?, definitely worth a read.
