This children?s book which was written by Steven Bauer and illustrated by Brad Sneed, presents a wonderfully pleasant tale about a young boy who wanted to be a dog.
This young boy will soon be celebrating is sixth birthday. This soon-to-be six year old, Robert McDoodle, is worried his parents will buy him the usual presents: boring old clothes and toys he doesn?t need. This year he wishes for things to be different. He decides when he grows up he would like to be a puppy or a dog at the very least. The life of a dog would be far more remarkable and wonderful than the life of an ordinary boy.
Now with his now life plan set into motion, things had to be different. He would no longer have to attend school, at least not the kind he was used too. There would be no more letters, math, science or social studies; instead finds himself attending a new school, a dog school. Here he would learn the run, bark loudly, dig holes in the ground, play fetch and drink water from places he never thought he'd go. This was the life for him; at least initially. But it doesn?t take long for Robert to realize that dogs have problems too.
A dog's life seems like a much better life at first. But did Robert prefer his new life as a dog? As you follow Robert through his new experience as a training dog, you will appreciate the wonderful development of the imagination as it relates to a child?s life. Through trial and error, Robert discovers that boring old presents are not as bad as he once thought.
