Computer Modelling Saves Lives
(Shallu)

Publicidade
Computer have been widely used in the design and modelling of cars and aeroplanes for last few years. It is know being applied to the modeling of their occupants. By predicting the nature of the injuries sustained in crashes, the manufacture hope to improve vehicles to minimize the herrific consequences of accidents.
In U.K. , non-linear a dynamic analysis is being used on vehicles structures and their human occupants to investigate the effects of impact.
Until now, the guiding principles in priorities, engineering has been to avoid accidents rather aircraft accidents which wrer survival level for crashes in which the fuselage remains intact. This kind of analysis can reduce the need for expensive crash test of the sort used to ensure complaisance with USFederal Motor Vehicle safety standards. These standards, such as head impact Criteria do not exceed a certain limit since high HIC levels increase the risk of brain damage and death.
HIC is derived from a mathmatical combination of acceleration level duration measured on the head during dummy testing. One recent project undertaken in the U.K. examined the phenomenon called submarining of seat belted passengers. The study has accurately simulated the kinetic behaviour of the victim during submarining and the data will be used to design vehicles interiors to prevent it poem accidents and also save lives.
