These are factual figures offered to MBA diploma holders from IIMs.With 510 jobs on offer for only 235 students of IIM-Ahmedabad this year;students had multiple choice to opt,during campus placement process. M.B.A, Master of Business Administration is a degree/diploma,which will never go out of fashion. It is the most coveted profession and is most sought after qualification in the corporate world. Management is now no longer restricted to Sales and Marketing. It also involves sectors like Finance, Human Resource and System Management. The traditional managerial positions in Administration, Hotel Management, Marketing, Industrial Relations, have been complemented by specializations in Information Technology, Hospital Administration, Sports Management, Occupational Management, Travel Management etc, amongst others Common Admission Test (CAT) is the entry route for admission to the best B-Schools in India, the six Indian Institute of Management (IIM), at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Indore, and Kozhikode. The IIMs usually admit about 1000 students every year. Almost 48 other management institutes like, MICA, Nirma Institute of Management, S.P. Jain Institute, also draw out their candidates based on the performance in CAT. This makes CAT the most important management entrance exam in our country today. Other exams include the Common Entrance Test (CET) for entry into management institutes in Maharashtra. The selection process in most management institutes comprises of an aptitude test, group discussion and personal interview.
