The Da Vinci Code is now the most famous book after Harry Potter as well as a #1 Bestseller. This book is written by Dan Brown who is also the author of such giant bestsellers like Angels and Demons, Deception Point, Digital Fortress etc. This book is of a type which keeps on the run till the end of its end and is very, very hard to put down. Mixing religion, the grail legend, and suspense it would be really shocking if the book didn?t hit the bestseller lists. The story begins with the mysterious murder of the elderly curator of Louvre Museum called Jacques Sauniere. Robert Langdon, who is a Harvard Symbologist, is called to interpret the strange symbols written around the dead body. Robert Langdon concludes that the symbols was written by the curator himself and he is trying to represent as a Vitruvian Man ? which is most famous drawing of Leonardo Davinci. But Robert Langdon later finds that he himself had become a suspect in the murder. He and the granddaughter of Jacques Sauniere ? Sophie Neveu - flee off to solve the mystery. By the help of the symbols they find a keystone which would lead them to the ultimate secret. They have to find a password to open the Keystone and to take out the secret lying inside it. Meanwhile, another man called Saul who is a brutal albino murderer and who murdered the curator is searching for the keystone in Saint-Sulpice. He is hired by Bishop Aringarosa of Opus Dei ? a Christian organization ? to hide an ultimate secret that could cause much harm to Christianity and to get the most priced Holy Grail. The Bishop is being helped by a mysterious man called the Teacher. But Saul doesn?t find the Keystone. Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu seek the help of a French Cryptologist called Leigh Teabing. Leigh Teabing describes to them the legend of the Holy Grail and about a secret organization called the Priory of Scion. He says that the Holy Grail is not a cup held by Lord Jesus but is actually a woman. She is the Mary Magdalene herself. Mary Magdalene is married by Lord Jesus Christ. But after Lord Jesus Christ?s crucifixion Mary Magdalene flees off to France. There she gives birth to a child called Sarah. So it finally turns out that the Holy Grail is actually the tomb of Mary Magdalene. The Priory of Scion is a secret brotherhood formed to protect the Holy Grail and the evidences about the Christ?s marriage and to nurture and protect the lineage of Christ and Mary Magdalene. They realize that Jacques Sauniere is the Grand Master of Priory of Scion and that famous persons like Leonardo Davinci, Isaac Newton were also members of it. Suspecting that the password is located in a place called the Temple Church, Robert Langdon, Sophie Neveu, Teabing and his driver called Remy goes there. There, Remy and Silas kidnaps Teabing. Remy drops Silas by in the Opus Dei building and goes with Teabing in the car?s deck. Silas is then being caught by the police and during a struggle he accidentally shoots Bishop Aringarosa. Silas who was also hurt dies with the Bishop. Robert Langdon and Sophie realize that Teabing was kidnapped to Westminster Abbey where it is suspected that the password to the Grail is located. They go there and the novel swerves to an astounding turn. They realize that the mysterious Teacher is none other that Teabing himself. Teabing says that he had decided to unleash the ultimate secret about the Holy Grail to the world which Jacques Sauniere who as the Grand Master of the brotherhood should do but refused to. During a fight to open the keystone to get the map leading to the Grail Teabing realize that the map is now with none other than Langdon himself. But luckily Teabing was caught by the police. With the help of the clues provided Langdon and Sophie go to Rosslyn and realize a stunning secret. Sophie is one of the lineages of Christ and her grandmother is living in Rosslyn. Sophie is happy that she has found a family for her. But Langdon is not. The story ends with an unexpected climax of Robert Langdon locating the Grail. It is located in none other than the Louvre itself.
