Never before did a book (apart from Harry Potter) make me feel living the story. More than that, researching on topics such as the ?Priory of Scion? or ?Paganism?, Christianity, its origin and the history of bible. It was a never before experience that I felt while reading the book. The description of Louvre although heard many a times and seen glimpses on the internet sites, was never so clear in my mind before I knew it through the words of Dan Brown. The mystery of the age old museum and the magic it withholds through the paintings of the great philosophers was simply overwhelming.
Not once I felt that the story reflected the negativity on either of the religious extremes discussed. It simply outlined views of different thoughts and wonderfully intertwined with a superb storyline. The dilemma of a common man and contradictions that he had to face during his journey in Europe was so genuine that not once the word fiction crossed my mind while reading the story.
The joy and heartbeats grew more and more when the facts were unfolded gradually without giving a hint of the next chapter and the next chapter did hit you hard forcing you to stop reading and think. We would actually think about the authenticity of the puzzles and the link with spirituality making you believe and putting you in dilemma at the same time.
At the end I felt happy and satisfied even though the story might not end there. Satisfaction came through the fact that it ended the chaos in the mind of the protagonist and he finally found a greater meaning in life than the mystery he was chasing so far or rather the mystery that was chasing him.
I pity those who overlooked the message that was according to me successfully conveyed but went on to charge the author of disrespecting the religion which I believe was never intended.
