Objective
Homework project aim is to provide an online space for children and youth to write their homework and explore other children home work. The project look and feel should be young and jumpy to provide different experience for the users. Site design should focus on the usability of the site and the quality of its services to assure fun and productive stay on site. All this terms are mandatory for the public to acquire shvoong as a tool for writing homework.
Goals
Site functionality will be clear and easy, and will not require training or help instructions
Site look and feel will be dynamic and young (?cool?).
The site will provide easy and friendly tool for user to upload their homework, exams, and reports.
The site will provide search engine to explore the content of the homework.
The site will support 34 Languages (same languages as shvoong).
The site will support the 2 major browser today ? IE and Firefox.
The site will provide messaging and forums tools.
The project will use SEO techniques and methodology. Considering SEO during the development is very important
The site will provide a tool to the user to insert his family tree and look for relative on the net.

In Shvoong home page there will be new button which will be the link to the homework site.
Homework project will not preserver Shvoong look and feel since the target users are different
Home work site will be a folder under shvoong domain in order to keep the languages sub domains ? www.shvoong.com/homework/
Home work will be new project, but code reuse should be done from abstracts projects
Modules overview
My Homework
This module provides the users easy and friendly interface to upload their homework, exams or reports, with the ability to mange their timetable and content. This module will supply tools for communication between members in Shvoong like messaging and forums.
Other people homework
This module provide friendly interface for searching content and other people homework , exams and reports in shvoong homework. The users can easily navigate and search for content after they registered or before. For each homework on site the simple user can insert comments (Talkback feature).
Admin
This module provide the tools to mange homework activates and content, it is best if the homework administration will be part of the current shvoong admin but on a different brunch
My home work
Entering the system
From the Homepage there will be a button that will direct to homework home page. In this page the user will find 2 Options: 1) my homework, Log in or register 2) other people home work, Search options
First time
At the first time a user is entering the system he can search for content or register to shvoong homework, the registration process will require the following details: Full name (optional), Nickname, Language, Country, City, School, Grade, Educator (Optional), Email, ICQ number (optional), Self picture, Agreement to terms and condition. After registration the user will redirect to a page to define his timetable, Blank timetable will appear where the user can insert his Courses. On registration message that inform the user about the existence of suitable forum.
Registered user
When a user log-in to the system the default page will be his timetable, from this page he can upload new content or view his homework for a specific course. The features that open for the user are: Upload new homework, Manage my homework, Manage my timetable, Manage my details, View my messages, Send a message, Forums, Family tree.
Content type
There are three types of content 1. Homework (N x [question, answer]) 2.Exam ( N x [question, answer] ) 3.Report (content)
Upload new content
The user can upload new content by clicking on the course in the timetable or by selecting ?upload new content? from the menu bar. When uploading new content the user will provide the following details: Course (if the user did not arrived from the timetable) Subject, teacher name, date, type (homework, exam, report). Writing homework will be in question, answer format in case the type is homework or exam. The user can upload pictures, formulas and files of type .doc and .xls
Manage homework
The user can manage his content by clicking on the course in the timetable or by selecting ?My homework? from the menu bar. Advanced features for managing his content will supply (sorting, searching, etc.), the user can see his homework by date, or by subject.
Payments
There will be no payments in shvoong homework; all content upload will be voluntarily.

Managing timetable
The user will have the option to edit his time table, remove course or add course. And the option to navigate between timetables and add new timetable, for each timetable the following data will be saved: Year, Semester, N x [Course, Day, Time, Duration]
