That is the full version of a book published in 2003, and titled ?Borne ? Historia wyryta w lesie? ('Borne - History engraved in wood'). It shows tolerably wide historical layout about the place, which name is based on two settlements: Borne (Gross Born in the past) and Sulinowo (Lipka, Linde, Linde bei Krangen). Town was taken over from the Soviets in 1993 even it was lying within Poland since 1945. However, other authorities ruled in garrison and troop training area laid beside then. It was Soviet enclave, one of many in Poland.
Through the centuries Pile Lake?s countryside settled by civilians only, but since Hitler started to gain all power, preparation for ?Pommernstellung? were in pipeline. Truppenubungsplatz Gross Born was one of the most important points of logistic supplies based on Linde village.
Author tried to explain puzzled history of all the region as a background, which was border side of Great Poland and Pomerania first, and Brandenburg later, to understand resentments between Kaszebas, Poles, or Prussians and Brandenburg better. Soviet Union?s usurp in addition. The story begins from the far past where the stones and fire were in use as the most popular DIY. Through history of Middle Age when the Slovenians, Goths lived there, and hard period of diseases and wars between Poles, and Pomeranians, Pomeranians and Cross Knights, or Brandenburg to the fall of country in XVII century when Pomerania as a prince land disappeared. Hard beaten region stood up at the beginning of the XX century, but Hitler?s mania has changed everything.
