hoops is a very appealing book if your into basketball and know what the game is about. hoops ending was very well written and was very unpredictable which kept me interrested. hoops is a story about a young talented basketball player who is coached by an alcoholic ex-basketball star who lonnie grows to love and realizes in a way they are alot alike. lonnie and cal get into some trouble when their team makes it to the campionship. gamblers come and ask cal to lose the game for some money. hoops can teach you alot of different lessons but i wouldn't recomend it to a reader who doesn't like basketball they will be easily discourged in reading the book and will not want to read it
