The Sun Also Rises is a fantastic love story written by Ernest Hemingway,who is one of the most great American writer in the 20th century.The hero of the book is Jake Barnes and the heroine is Brett.After World War One Jake returns to England and falls in love with Brett.Brett loves him too. Jake has been seriously wounded and he can but has a sexless relationship with Brett.So Brett leaves him for Mike Campbell, a Scotsman of noble birth.Later Brett has involved with two man,Cohn, a boxer and Pedro Romero,a bullfighter.At last,Brett writes a letter to tell Jake that she decides to return to Mike. The book gives a good picture of people's life after World War One.Hemingway is a writer of great narrative power and characterizes his heroine as capricious and passionate.It reflected the lost generation.They are not physically wounded,but mentally and psychologically wounded.They don't know what to look for.They are completely lost.
